Over the past 60 years, Epilepsy Toronto has been the place where Torontonians living with epilepsy can learn more about their condition, get the help they need and be a part of a family of caring and supporting people. Epilepsy Toronto prioritizes individual needs, the importance of living as independently as possible and the benefits of community engagement.
Epilepsy Toronto strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding this condition by providing a range of public outreach programs and public events that raise epilepsy awareness and in some cases, funding for the agency. Our events include: Purple Walk, the Amari Thompson Soiree, the Toronto International BuskerFest and Holiday Fair in Nathan Phillips Square.
The Epilepsy Toronto Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing our social-media strategy, supporting our team with their marketing needs, and playing a leadership role in the publicity of our events. This is a full time, permanent position.
Support the Director of Communications in internal and external communications including publicity, marketing and social media.
Plan, manage and execute social media, Public Relations, Digital media and Marketing campaigns for all agency communications as well as major events such as Toronto International BuskerFest for Epilepsy, Holiday Fair in Nathan Phillips Square, etc.
Planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting on organic and paid digital marketing campaigns and social media campaigns.
Oversee budget planning and management for event-based marketing and promotions
Write and manage key communications, including core messaging, talking points, internal articles, blogs, and emails
Coordinate media opportunities for the agency surrounding events
Additional tasks include WordPress website management, creating online content, meeting with clients to create stories to share online.
Create social media images and other design requirements as needed
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL:
Be interested in working in the non-profit world; listening to and telling the stories of people living with epilepsy in our community, in creative and inspiring ways
Have strong writing skills and be able to create original content and proofread
Have a minimum +2 years working post graduate in a related role
Have experience developing and implementing a social media strategy
Possess problem solving, strategic thinking, time-management, and multitasking skills
Have excellent interpersonal skills; be a team player who can act as both a leader and a contributor as required
Be familiar with Adobe Suite and/or Canva
Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, powerpoint)
Publicity experience is an asset
Knowledge of Google Adwords and Analytics is an asset
Being familiar with epilepsy is an asset, but not a requirement
